Chapter One: Dean's Beginning
Dean had a small family. He, his mother, and his dad. He never saw his dad much. Dean's dad would always blame his work, but Dean felt that it was his own fault. Dean was four when his dad left. His mother was so depressed, but that did not stop her from trying to make Dean's life almost perfect. His mother knew about his powers and never told him who his dad actualy was. His mother got pregnant at an early age so she wasn't the best mother in the world though she devoted her life to Dean.
Since Dean's mother had no money and no job to suport her and her son, they moved in with her parents. At home Dean was the center of attention. He was small and adorable. His little blue eyes sparkled like his father's. Dean loved sleep. He would take serveral naps a day so he was pretty easy to take care of. Dean was the highlight of his small family. Finally his mother gets a job out of state. Her parents are happy for her but sad that she and Dean had to leave. They were going to move to Seattle.
Dean's mom packed her car with the help of Dean himself. Dean was going to turn 7 in a month. They said goodbye to Dean's grandparents and headed on their way.
Dean sat in the back seat and watched the cars go by.
"Are we going to see them again?" He asked.
His mother answered, "Oh yeah sweetie."

Chapter 2: Dean's New Home
Once they got home, Dean went inside his room. It wasn't too big or too little. For Dean it was perfect. Boxes sat in the middle of his floor. His matress was leaning against his sky blue walls and his closet was open and filled with clothes. His one window was open and fresh air blew in on the hot Summer day. Dean walked to his window and tried to shut it. It wiggled a bit but wouldn't close.
Dean set down his tiny crayon colored back pack and went to go find his mom. "Mommy?" He said. She was in the kitchen unloading boxes of plates and bowls.
"Hey Sweetie. Can you help me with the silver ware?" She asked. She set a box on the floor and openned it so Dean could reach his little hands in there.
"Uh huh." Dean said. He took out three spoons and set them in the drawer. The forks clanked together as he set them down.
"So do you like your room?" His mother asked smoothing out his hair. She grabbed more plates and set them in the pantry.
"My window won't close." Dean said. He placed more spoons in with the forks.
"Don't worry we can get that fixed." She said comforting him. She gently scratched his back.
"Okay." Dean said. He walked over to his living room. His favorite show was on so he turned the televison on.
"Hey sweetie, how about some grilled cheese?" His mother said stroking his hair.
"Alright." Dean said. His mother went back to the kitchen and turned on the stove.
Dean sat on the couch and watched the tv. It sat on other boxes. Dean looked at the porch door. He could've promised that he saw a man watching him. Dean ran back to the kitchen and held his mom's hand.
"What is it?" She asked. Dean took her hand and lead her outside. The man Dean saw stood in the middle of their back yard. He wore a long cloak and what looked like a cap one would sleep in.
"Go inside sweetie." Dean's mother ordered. Dean did what she asked and went back to watch his show.
Chapter 3: The Man and The Sleeping Hat
"Why are you here?" Dean's mom asked.
"I'm here to take Dean." The man said back.
"You can't just take him from me?" She argued desperate to win.
"Essie, We agreed that he could live with you until he turned seven." The man said.
"Yes but I still have two weeks." Essie said. Her eyes were watering. "You can't take my baby."
"He's my child too." The man said. "And we can't be together."
"I know. Please don't take him." Essie said. "I've loved that child ever since he was born. You haven't even been there for him to tuck him in at night." Tears felll from her eyes.
The man actually had tucked Dean in every night for the past five years, but didn't tell Essie. "I'm sorry." He said. Then he turned and left.
Essie thought she had won Dean, so she went inside and wiped her tears away. She saw that the grilled cheese was gone from the stove. The stove was off and the pan she used was in the sink. She looked up and saw Dean eating his sandwich in front of the tv. She smiled.
Chapter 4: She Can't Keep Him
Dean lay in his bed and Essie came and tucked him in. She kissed his forhead, sang him to sleep, then left him. Dean slept soundly in his bed.
In his window came a figure just like the man Dean saw before. He looked at Dean and smiled. The man picked Dean up and held him. "Its time." He said. Dean opened his eyes. He recognised the man.
Essie must have woke because she came running to Dean's room. "No!" She grabbed the man's arm.
He touched her head and she fell asleep onto Dean's bed.
"Mommy." He said as the man took him out the front door.
When they got outside the man walked down the street. Essie who had woke up with a pain in her neck she ran out her door and hurried after the man. "Hypnos!" She yelled.
She jumping on his back and Hypnos fell onto the road. He set Dean on the ground and got Essie off him. "You know I can't leave him."

Essie fell onto her knees and cried into her hands. Hypnos picked up Dean and started to walk away again. Essie looked up and waved goodbye to Dean. Dean waved back.
"Bye Mommy." Dean said. Hypnos carried his into the woods.
Dean didn't know where he was going but he wasn't scared, he felt like he knew the man carrying him.
Chapter 5: Getting Away
"Alright, son. I'm going to take you to a place I know you'll be safe." Hypnos smiled at Dean.
"Daddie." Dean said he stared at Hypnos. Hypnos nodded his head and Dean hugged him.
Hypnos carried Dean to a black car. "This is how I take you to your home." He said.
"To mommy?" Dean asked.
Hypnos shook his head. "No I'm sorry, son, she isn't safe with you anymore." He told Dean as if he was four years older. Dean nodded and then looked out his window. He fell asleep.
Hypnos opened his car door and woke Dean up. "We're here." He let Dean out of the car. He took his hand and led him through gates that said Camp Half Blood on the front. Dean could tell what it said so he stood farther away from Hypnos.
Hypnos talked to a man with a horses body instead of legs. Dean listened to them whisper. He heard, "contained, monsters," and "away from his mother. He looked at them like they were crazy.
"Alright, son, I'm going to leave you with this nice man here." Hypnos said. Hypnos gave Dean's hand to the man.
Hypnos turned and left the camp. Once he was completely gone, Dean turned to the man. The man smiled and said, "I'm Chiron your counselor."
This made Dean scared. He ran into the woods and out of the camp.

Chapter 6: Living Alone
Dean ran further into the woods. He was crying now. Dean tripped on a tree root and cut his knee. He winced, but walked further.
Dean came to a abandoned house in the woods. He walked inside. There was a table with two chairs and a counter with a sink and a small stove. He check to see if the sink was working. Lucky for him it was. He took some water and cleaned his knee like his mother would do when he fell.
He looked in a room that was consealed with a door. There was an old bed but it looked a little scary so he left it where it was. Dean went back into the kitchen. He opened some cupboards and looked inside. The three cupboards were filled with jars of peaches. Dean took one for his dinner.
Dean went out side and looked at the trees. He dug a whole in the ground and placed leaves inside it. Then he found a blanket that wasnt used in the house and covered his big hole. Dean laid in the hole and covered himself up with the blanket. He cracked open the peach jar and took a sip of the juice.
The peaches were good but not filling. Dean's stomach ached for food. He fell asleep hugging his tummy.

Dean got up the next morning and was hungry. He was so sick of just eating peaches so he looked around in the woods for a road or something that would lead him to a diner or gas station.
Dean finally found a road. He walked next to it just in case a car came or something. Dean saw a gas station over head so he walked faster. When he got to the station, no one was there. He didn't know what to do so he went inside. The door was unlocked. Dean grabbed some beef jerky and ate it.
"Hey son." said Hypnos. The gas station dissapeared from around them. Dean still had the jerky though.
"Stay away from me." Dean said.
"But Im your dad, Dean, I only want to help you." Hypnos said.
"How?" Dean asked.
"By doing this." Hypnos touched Dean on his forehead.
Chapter 7: Lost Identity
Dean opened his eyes. He didn't know where he was or who he was. He looked around. He was in a soft bed in clean sheets. Dean got up and looked in a bathroom mirror close by. He was wearing a dogtag. Gently he looked at it. It said Dean with his last name scratched out.
"Deh-an, Dean." He read aloud to himself.
He looked around the house more. There was a table with two chairs and a counter with a sink and a small stove. He check to see if the sink was working. Lucky for him it was. He opened some cupboards and looked inside. The three cupboards were filled with jars of peaches. Dean took one for his dinner.
Dean went outside and looked at the trees. He saw a hole in the ground filled with leaves and a blanket. Next to this was a half-eaten jar of peaches.
Dean went back to his house and laid in his bed. He cracked open his peaches and took a sip of the juice. The peaches were good but not filling. Dean's stomach ached for food. He fell asleep hugging his tummy.

The next morning Dean woke feeling a little refreshed. He ate some more peaches and washed his hands. He decided it was time for him to leave.
Dean walked through the forest. He saw a squirrel and followed it to a tree stuffed with nutts. Then a little fawn caught his eye. Dean carefully stepped over to it. It noticed it was being followed so it lept away Dean ran after it. "Wait Im your friend!" He said over and over.
He ran into a clearing in the forest. There were giant targets lined up. Some had arrows in it. This frightened Dean so he ran further into the clearing. He finally saw people.
Dean ducked in the bushes. There was a man in a wheelchair. Dean felt slightly bad for him but had a uneasy feeling around him. While going unoticed, Dean fleed to the secret hiding place of a tree. He peered out from behind it. The people where still busy doing what seemed to be some sort of training. One was small and had white hair and red eyes. She seemed sweet as she hit the other person with her small sword. The girl looked up and saw Dean.
Quickly Dean dashed out from behind his tree and make a run for it to the other side of the forest.
"What is it Echo?" Asked the person who was fighting the little white haired child.
"Nothing." She said still looking for the frightenned boy she saw.

After Echo was done with her training she made it through the forest looking for the little boy. "Hello?" She called out.
Dean sat up in a tree. He saw the girl and held his breath. He had heard the other person call her Echo. She couldnt hurt him and Dean knew it. Slowly he climbed down the tree and turned to see the girl.
"Oh Hello." She said smiling. "Are you the boy I saw earlier?" She asked. Dean gave her a nod which made her face light up. "Im Echo." She said holding out her hand. Dean glanced down at her hand then back at her face.
"Dont worry, Im not going to hurt you. Im your friend." Echo said beaming. Dean gave her a small weak smile. "So what are you doing out here?" She asked looking at him. He looked down at the ground. "You dont know do you?" Echo said. Dean shook his head.
