Aiden was nearly 2 months old when his father left him and his mother. She never let him forget it. At about six years of age his mother got remarried thinking she would get some more money to satisfy her achohol addiction. The man she married was now on his death bed and his son Jack, Aiden's half-brother, was depressed about it. Jack would stay in his room, with his doors locked, and listen to dark music. This scared Aiden and his mother. She still blamed Aiden for his father leaving. She would yell, "Why are you still here? No one loves you. You have nothing!" Aiden at this time was eight and going to elementary school.
He loved all his teachers but loved Mrs. Tess more. She was his favorite teacher. She would teach them how to write and read better. Everyday in school he would sit down and he would feel pain at wherever Jack had taken out his anger. Mrs. Tess seemed to realize signs of abuse.
"Hey Aiden. How are you feeling?" She would ask rubbing his back. When she did he seemed to yelp. Mrs. Tess was seriously worried so she followed him home.
Aiden would always walk 2 miles to get home. His family had one car but it was Jack's and if anyone touched it, Aiden would get hurt.

Mrs. Tess followed him onto a dirt road. Aiden knew he was being followed but also knew it was Mrs. Tess. He kept walking until he stopped. He saw his house.

He turned the corner and walked down a differetn road. Aiden wondered why she had followed him all this way. He turned around and looked at his teacher. He waved.
"Hey Aiden. Do you need a ride?" Mrs Tess asked. He shook his head no.
"Do you need anything?" Mrs Tess asked. Once again he shook his head.
"Alright well if you need anything call me." Mrs. Tess said giving him her number written on a peice of paper. "Call me anytime. See you tomorrow." Mrs Tess waved goodbye and drove away.
Once Aiden was sure she was gone, he turned back to his house. He sighed. Aiden was going to be punished for not getting home on time.

Chapter 2: Scared for His Life
Aiden opened the old screen door to his house. His mother was on the couch passed out. She had curlers in her hair.
He carefully shut the door so she wouldn't wake up. Aiden was desperate to make it back to school tomorrow. He shut the door and stepped carefully through the living room and into the kitchen. Aiden was starving because he had no money at school to buy a lunch so he went through his school days with an empty stomach. It was sad really because Aiden thought this happened to all children at his age.

"Hey little bro." Aiden's brother Jack whispered into his ear. This startled Aiden and he ran from his brother trying to make it to his room. Jack pulled Aiden by his shirt collar and held Aiden close to his face.
"Why are you so scared? Do I scare you little brother?" Jack said. Aiden looked away. "Look at me!" He yelled at Aiden spitting on his face. Aiden kept his eyes shut. "Look at me!" Jack screamed again slapping Aiden in his face.
A small tear rolled down his face. "Look at me." Jack taunted. Aiden turned his face in Jack's dirrection and opened his eyes.
"There. Its not to hard." Jack smirked and pushed Aiden into the wall. "Give me respect next time I see you."
Aiden ran from the kitchen and into his room. Jack had broken his door so it hung by a hinge. He sat on his bed made of pillows and sobbed into his shirt. This day was a good day. At least Jack didn't get his knife to threaten him or slice him on the back. Aiden took off his wet shirt and looked at his back in his broken window. He had 13 big cuts that intersected in many different places. Some other tiny cuts covered his arms legs ans face. No one noticed these because Aiden always wore his jacket and jeans.

Chapter 3: Mrs Tess Finds Out
Aiden slugged out of his bed. He stepped into the kitchen and looked into the living room. His mother was still sitting on the couch. She was breathing so Aiden left her alone. Aiden headed out the door and out to school.
It was three o clock. Aiden go up this early to walk himself to school. He wouldnt dare sit in a car with his mother behind the wheel, or worse his brother. Aiden passed by his neighbors and waved to them. They would enjoy when he walked by. Aiden considered them his only friends including Mrs. Tess.
Finally Aiden got to school. He walked into his room and greeted Mrs. Tess with his smile. She smiled. She loved seeing his little smile with one tooth gone. The tooth that Jack punched out a long time ago. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.

Aiden took his seat in the front of the class. He was sore from being abused so he sat in his chair rather oddly.
Mrs. Tess leaned down to Aiden. "Are you alright." Aiden nodded. He did what his brother told him to do, suck it up.
The teacher started class and Aiden listened intently. He was very eager to learn compared to other students. They didn't know what it was like living in Aiden's sore body and living his sad life.
After class, Mrs. Tess talked to Aiden again. "Aiden, whatever is happening you can always talk to me about it." She rubbed his back and he whimpered.
She felt his back again. Tess could swear she felt bumps on his back. She lifted the back of his shirt. Mrs. Tess shut her eyes and winced as she looked at his scars.
"Aiden who did this?" she asked.
"Jack." Aiden said.
"Who is Jack? Is he your brother?" Mrs. Tess asked him. Aiden nodded his head. She got up. "Wait in your seat Aiden." She told him. Tess went to her school phone and called the police. Tears filled her eyes.
"Am I in trouble?" Aiden asked thinking of what Jack would do to him.
"No, your fine." Tess said. Aiden didn't like to see his teacher cry.

After Mrs. Tess's phone call, she wiped her tears and said, "Aiden how about you come to my house with me and Garert?" Garret was a little boy about one year younger than Aiden.
Aiden nodded his head and followed her to her car.
Mrs. Tess met Garret who was sitting outside waiting to go home. She introduced Garret and Aiden to each other.

Garret smiled and got into Mrs Tess's car. Aiden got in next to him. Mrs Tess started the car and they drove to the Tess House.
Once they were home, Garret ran upstairs to show Aiden his room. Aiden followed him up and through a green hall filled with pictures of Garret and his mother. "This is my room." Garret said. If you stepped into Garret's room you could tell he had a love for outerspace.
"So what do you think?" Garret asked.
Aiden looked around and didn't say anything.
"You don't say much do you?" Garret asked.
Aiden shook his head slowly.
"Thats okay. I talk alot so its good if you listen... not many people do." Garret said. He sat on his bed and Aiden sat with him. They smiled at each other then they heard Mrs. Tess call out that supper was ready.
"Your gonna love mom's cooking." Garret said. "Race you down the stairs!" He jumped off his bed and out the door. Aiden followed after. Aiden could smell food cooking downstairs. His last homeade meal was at school when he actually could buy his food, but he wasn't too sure if it was cooked or not.

Aiden and Garret ran outside to play and Mrs Tess yelled to them, "Come inside before dark!" She was happy that they had gotten along so well.
Garret and Aiden sat in Garret's treehouse. "My dad built this for me. He left me and mom though."
Aiden looked at Garret in his eyes. "My dad left me too."
Garret was happy to know that he wasn't the only child in the world without a dad. He was content with his family now, though he loved his father dearly.
Aiden was glad he knew Garret and Mrs Tess. He had never been so close to two people in his life. He knew that he wanted to be with them forever.
After months of living with his small but loving family, Mrs. Tess made it official and adopted Aiden on Christmas morning. Aiden and Garret could swear that this was the best day of their lives.
Aiden sat in the bleachers at his brother's basket ball game. Garret was one of the best players because of playing street basketball with Aiden and their neighbors. They both looked like twins almost, but Garret had blue eyes. From the back you could barely notice who was who, although Aiden was slightly taller.
A man in a wheel chair rolled into the gym. He sat near Aiden.
"Hello. I'm Aiden." He said. He always felt that he had to introduce himself because of his past.
"I'm Chiron." The man said shaking Aiden's hand. "Is that your brother?" He asked pointing to the tall handsome boy shooting a lay-up.
"Yes. Yes he is." Aiden said smiling. "How could you tell?"
"He looks like you." Chiron said.
"Well he's not really a blood relative." Aiden said.
"Yes you were adopted by his mother, Mrs. Keit?" Chiron said. Mrs. Tess got married Summers ago to Garret's coach, Coach Keit.
"Yes do you know her?" Aiden asked.
"I do, but I need to talk to your brother and you alone." Chiron said urgently.
"Alright. Halftime is in about one minute." Aiden said pointing to the scoreboard.
"Good." Chiron said.

As soon as halftime came Aiden walked Chiron to Garret.
"Garret, this is Chiron. He wants to talk to us." Aiden said.
"Alright." Garret followed Aiden and Chiron to a empty hall.
"You too are very special people, and your mother knows about this so don't worry, your fathers are gods." Chiron said.
"Your kidding." Garret said. "Okay, okay. Where are the hidden cameras?" He asked looking around. "Are we being punked?"
"Maybe we should listen." Aiden said. He had reccently discovered some weird things about himself and wanted to know what was causing it all.
"No you aren't being punked." Chiron said. He wasn't sure what that meant. "If you too stay here you could cause some serious problems for your mother's future. Maybe even your friends." Chiron said.
"So what? Do we just leave them?" Garret said. Aiden looked at Chiron.
"To keep them safe." Chiron said.
Garret looked confused. Aiden was way with him. "So who are our dads? Where will we go?" Garret asked. Aiden let Garret do all the talking like always.
"I'm not sure who your fathers are but you too will come with me and live at Camp Half Blood with other demigods." Chiron answered.
"So we aren't freaks right?" "No." "And leaving will keep them all safe?" "Yes." Chiron had never been asked so many questions before.
"Then lets go." Aiden said. "If it keeps mom safe." Garret nodded his head and looked down. He looked like he would burst.

((WARNING: EXTREMELY GORRY....))
Aiden and Garret got into Chiron's car. "Oh and boys you should know that there are some pretty dangerous monsters out there."
"Like that one?" Aiden asked. He pointed out out the window at a dog-looking-thing.
"Not thats a dog." Garret said. But then the thing looked at them. It had two heads. "Oh wow... Nevermind."
"Its a Cerberus. A three headed dog." Chiron said. "We have to get rid of it before it gets to the school."
They got out of the car and Chiron stepped out of his wheelchair revealing his four horse legs.
"Holy crap." Garret said.
"Don't forget the three headed dog infront of you." Aiden said.
The dog drooled and spat. The heads barked and shook their tail.
"Right." Garret said.
"Here." Chiron said giving them both swords amd a little dagger.
They took their weapons and got ready for a battle they weren't ready for. Aiden nodded at his brother and then at Chiron. Then he charged and hit the dog in the nose. Blood dripped from its snout and it howled then pawd at Aiden who dodged it fast. Garret came for the dog and hit it in the shoulder. Chiron saw a way to hit the dog in it back leg so he took his shot and knocked the dog to the ground. The canine pawd at Aiden again and sent him flying into a rock. Aiden layed passed out.
"Aiden!" Garret yelled running to his fallen brother. He stood between the dog and Aiden. He threw his dagger and it stuck into the dog's leg. It whimpered and Garret charged again. He ran into the dog. Chiron threw Aiden's sword into the canine's leg and it went all the way through to the other side of the dog's thigh. It whined again and Garret charged at the dog. Aiden began to wake up. The dog charged at Garret. The collided and the beast bit into Garret's leg.
"Garret!" Aiden screamed realizing what was happening.
Garret winced and yelled. The dog stood in front of him and Garret ran as fast as his deeply cut leg could bring him. He rammed his sword into the dog and killed it. The beast fell dirrectly on top of Garret.
Chiron and Aiden ran to help Garret. They pushed the dog off Garret. Garret laid there in the dog's blood. He held his side.
"His ribs are broken." Chiron said.
Aiden cried and leaned over his brother.
"I want you to go.... To camp." Garret said. "Leave.... me." Blood flowed out of his mouth and he coughed it up onto the ground.
Aiden sat and watched his brother die in his arms. Garrets basetball jersey was torn and stained with blood. Aiden hugged his brother.
Chiron pried Aiden from his brother's cold body and led him to the car. Aiden screamed into the air. "If my dads a god why won't he help me!?"
On the way to camp Aiden fell asleep in Chiron's car.
