The Temple of Clouds
Prologue:
Readers Beware
I always knew I was different. I mean really, what kid isn’t allowed to see her own father? Now seriously, Dyslexia, ADHD, and ADD are bad enough. Add in the fact that you’re a demi-god and say hello to a whole new world of hurt. If you’re starting to think that your one of us, close the book and pick up national geographic or something, its better that you don’t know. If not well I suggest the same thing, but you can keep reading. Just remember, if you start to realize your one of us, or weird things start to happen, shut the book and start running for your life, because now you’re going to have monsters hunting your butt down for the rest of your miserable life. Yes, I said miserable; it’s what all half-bloods lives will be.
Chapter 1
I Play Hide-and-Go-Die with a Giant
My name is Demitra Jones. I’m fourteen and until yesterday, I was a student at Silver key Academy, a private school for troubled girls, in London , England . Am I troubled? Well, you could say that. I prefer the term from a messed up or dysfunctional family. I can start from any point in my pathetic existence, but the worst was, by far, yesterday. It all started in Latin class. My teacher always had it out for me. I could swear that on certain days, her eyes were like a snake. It was a normal day at first. I went to my first few classes which all ended the same- kicked out in the first twelve minutes. Latin was always the worst; I swear that Ms. Sims had it out for me. Ms. Sims is this old hag, I mean…old woman. Her white hair is short and choppy. She always wears a green skirt, snake skin shirts and boots. Also, her green eyes always seem to boar right into your soul. Not to mention she is always giving me detention for not wearing the uniform in the required fashion.
As I walked into the classroom and got the signature ‘I-hate-you’ glare from Ms. Sims. Figures, she hates me for no apparent reason. Well I was wearing fishnet gloves and my shirt was un-tucked, but still. I never really thought about it, but she has a weird habit of sticking her tongue out like she tasted the air. Just when I thought my day couldn’t get worst, Dawn Slider walked in.
Dawn had the obnoxious snob routine down to a point. Her blonde hair always was in braids and her blue eyes were completely covered in makeup. She looked like a raccoon in my opinion. Worst of all, her uniform was always exactly as it’s suppose to be and she was Ms. Sims favorite student. I looked at the floor as I took my usual seat in the back of the class. A small gold pen lying on the floor caught my ADD induced attention. I picked up the pen off the floor and spun it around, the next thing I know, the pen is gone and Dawn is looking at it with the ‘It’s-so-pretty-it-must-be-mine’ look.
“Give it back Slider,” I said with a glare.
“I don’t see your name on it,” she said shaking her head, “Just some Greek letters.”
“It says Hera’s Curse,” I said with a sigh, “If you actually paid attention in class you would know that.”
“You can’t even read,” she said rolling her eyes, “You’re dyslexic for crying out loud.”
“Well, Greek makes since to me,” I said shrugging, “Now give it back.”
Dawn began tossing the pen up and down, while walking towards the open window. She then proceeded to dangle the pen out the window. I don’t know how it happened, but the next thing I know Dawn is sitting on her butt in the rose garden screaming that I pushed her. Now, if I had pushed her, which I didn’t, it wasn’t that long of a drop. We were on the first floor for crying out loud. The strange thing was when I looked down there was the pen in my hand.
I looked over my shoulder hopping that Ms. Sims didn’t see that, but with my luck there she was smiling, like I had just did something she waited for all year. She sent all the kids out of the classroom and Dawn to the nurse’s office, and then she locked the door.
“Demitra Jones,” she said turning to me and speaking with a ‘nails-on-chalkboard’ voice, “It’s time to die.”
Then it started. Her clothes and body began to change. Her skirt turned into two trunks that looked like a snake’s body, her skin turned a sickly green color. Her eyes became snake like and she was holding a spear, which I could swear was one of those pointer stick things teachers used a few minutes ago.
I don’t understand why I uncapped the pen but when I did it turned into a sword with a silver blade and gold hilt in my hand. When I looked at Ms. Sims she was recoiled away from me. It was almost like she was afraid of the blade.
I got a strange idea; I remembered that I was on the gymnastics team at one point. I thought maybe if I backed into a corner and flipped over her maybe I could stab her in the back. So after blocking a few swings of her spear I started to put my plan in action. As she advanced on me I jumped off the wall flipping over her. Then, before she had time to turn around I stabbed the sword into her back. The next thing that happened was that Ms. Sims exploded into dust.
Yeah, interesting right? A few minutes after, it was goodbye Silver key and hello to the fourteenth school I had been expelled from. Apparently, “pushing” a kid out of a first floor window isn’t appreciated. After explaining to my butler, Wilbur, for hours about the problem, he finally let me go to the park. Grabbing my skateboard I headed to the park behind the house.
Now maybe I should explain about my dad. I know what her looks like; I’ve just never met him. He has dark brown hair like mine, just with out the red streak. His eyes are a warm brown, unlike my purple ones. She wears glasses and business suits and he is married, just not to my mother. How do I know all this? My butler tells me everything.
As I sat in the park I played with my red streak of hair. For some odd reason, I started thinking about who my mother might be. It was the first time. Did she wear clothes like mine? Long sleeved red shirts with a skull and guitar crossbones and thumb holes in the sleeves, torn blue jeans, and black tennis shoes with red trim. Or did she wear dresses and business suits like my father? These questions just made me get madder at my dad for not seeing me or even calling me.
The temperature in the park started to drop as I felt a new presence enter the park. A boy with very blonde hair was at the other side of the park from me. Even from that distance I could see what he was wearing. It was blue jeans, a white t-shirt, converse, and a chargers hat. I thought it was weird that he was walking over and staring at me, since he was obviously from America . Next thing I know he is standing in front of me holding out his hand.
“Name is Mason Sixt,” he said with a smile.
His cloudy blue eyes started looking around the park. I was skeptical, but I shook his hand. When I did I nearly fell off the table I was sitting on. What did it was the shock I got from the kid; it was like sticking your finger in an electrical socket.
“Sorry!” he said with an upset look on his face.
“Its fine,” I said smiling, “I’m Demitra Jones. Call me Demi.”
“Cool,” he said returning my smile, “Nice to meet you Demi.”
“Same,” I said looking around, “Did you see that?”
“See what?” he asked raising an eyebrow.
At the moment he said that, a huge dude covered in tattoos and wearing biker clothes walked towards us. He had a tattoo on his forehead that said Skull Eater. Mason took out a black pen with a lightning bolt on it. I took out my pen as well; it turned into a sword last time so I was sure his would to.
“You’re one as well?” Mason asked looking at me with wide eyes.
“One what?” I asked, this kid was confusing me.
“No time to explain,” he yelled as he uncapped his pen.
I watched as his pen turned into a gold sword with a bronze hilt. There was ancient Greek writing on the hilt that translated meant Olympian Storm.
I mean really, how many pens transform into a sword? I uncapped mine and watched it transform. I still wasn’t use to the silver sword and gold hilt. The only part that really bothered me was the fact that it was called Hera’s Curse. I’m pretty sure no id wants a cursed sword.
I looked over at the other guy. He had grown to e a good eight feet tall. He had been looking at me and Mason hungrily.
“Oh, gods,” Mason groaned, “He is a Laistrygonian giant.”
“What now?” I asked confused.
“A…man eating monster,” he said with a laugh.
“I don’t think that’s funny,” I growled.
With that the battle began. The guy was strong, within six minutes he had knocked dour swords all the way across the park. Mason and I ran and hid behind the trees. We had to keep changing our hiding spots, because the giant kept ripping up the trees. It wasn’t helping that he was also blocking our swords. I looked over at Mason, he was trying to find a way around the giant. We were trapped. We couldn’t get around him without being seen. It was over, I could tell, we had two options. Option one, get eaten, or option two, one of us had to distract “Skull Eater” while the other one grabbed the swords.
I don’t know why, but all of the sudden the Laistrygonian giant exploded into dust. A boy with short brown hair, green eyes, a whit shirt with a camo shirt unbuttoned over it, old and tattered blue jeans, and black conver high-tops, stood with a silver sword that had a leather hilt. He walked over and tossed Mason and me our swords which we capped and put in our pockets.
“Hold on to those,” the guy said, “Do you know how hard celestial gold and silver is to find?”
“No I can’t say I do,” I retorted, “considering I have no bloody idea what you’re talking about!”
“My name is Brad Christians,” he said, “Lets find somewhere safer to talk.”
“I’m mason Sixt, and that’s Demi Jones,” Mason said.
With that all of us left the park to find somewhere else to talk.

Chapter 2
Our Group Takes a Trip to Miami , Florida
After walking for a few hours, we walked into a small café. Brad sat down at a table and motioned for me and Mason to do the same. Mason sat down next to brad. I looked around making sure that no one I knew was near by then took a seat next to him. It would be just my luck that a few minutes later Dawn showed up. Raccoon face walked up in her school uniform, it would figure since she just got out for the day. The little nit had a smile on her face as she sat down next to me and, to my surprise and disgust, hugged me. I felt like punching her, throwing up, and running all at the same time.
“There you are DJ!” she said like we were friends, “I can’t believe you got expelled!”
“You should,” I retorted, “You’re the reason that I was!”
“Expelled huh?” Mason asked sarcastically, “Why does that not surprise me.”
Just as I expected, Dawn changed seats with me to sit closer to Mason. I guess in some girls’ point of view he was cute. After that she began flirting up with him, give him ten seconds and he’ll be begging to get out of there. I looked over at Brad, who rolled his eyes and began gulping down a grape soda. I looked down at my tea, confused why I even bought it; I started to actually drink the stuff. After a few minutes Mason got my attention and made I contact. His look was the ‘get-me-out-of-here’ one.
I felt bad for him and started to look around the café for something that might distract Dawn so the three of us could leave. Just as I was about to give up I spotted a girl with very rosy red hair and two pink tips. I recognized her as Lucy Diamond, a long time friend of mine that I met in a mythology museum last year. As much as I hated to do it, I had to get rid of the annoying raccoon face that was just not shutting up. So in a split second decision, I decided to dump Dawn on Lucy.
“Hey, everyone,” I shouted, “Its Lucy Diamond!”
With that Dawn, and pretty much the whole café, rushed out to go great the rich and famous hotel heiress. Brad looked at me and raised an eyebrow, and then he shrugged and took out his wallet. I stood up and pointed to Dawn then the check. They caught on quick and we raced out of there. Deciding that my place would be the best for a private conversation, we headed past the park and up the street. After getting to the house and about to have Brad explain what in Sam’s name was going on, the doorbell rang. Now, since Jim was out buying groceries, I got up to answer the door.
As I opened it, I came face to face with a very angry Lucy. Her sparkling pink tank top was bugging me. I couldn’t help myself and laughed at her angry expression. It was hard to believe she was mad, partially because she never got mad. When I say never, I mean never.
“What are you laughing at?” Lucy asked tapping her foot, which must have been hard since she was wearing silver high heels.
“Oh nothing,” I said, “Sorry for dumping the whole Café mob on you.”
“You better be!” she said before storming off in a huff.
I shut the door and broke down laughing. I never actually thought she could get that mad. At least, I thought it would never happen when I was around. Brad looked at me like I was insane. Then we all sat back down in the living room and Brad started explaining. After a few hours of having to listen to Brad explain that we were children of the Greek gods of Olympus and mortals, I thought I might go mad. Now I don’t know about Mason, but I was beginning to get a massive headache.
“Ok, ok,” I said, “I get it just STOP TALKING!”
“You are so weird,” Mason said laughing.
“Yeah, funny demi-god,” I said rolling my eyes.
After that I spaced out for a few moments. During that time I saw two kids sitting on a beach. The scene shifted to a girl in a book store. The street that it was on said Miami . So those three had to be in Florida . When I came back from my episode, Mason was waving smelling salts in my face.
“Welcome back to the living,” Brad said.
“Huh?” I asked shoving the salts away. “You passed out,” Mason said, “Well, more like fainted.”
“Oh…” I said completely confused, “Hey, can we go to Florida ?”
“Umm, why?” Brad asked ignoring my change of subject.
“I have a feeling that there are some demi-gods there,” I said rubbing the back of my head and laughing nervously.
“Ok then,” Brad said, “I guess-”
“TO THE AIRPORT!” Mason interrupted.
A few hours later we were at the airport and thanks to my dad’s connection to the airline, on the next plane out. Now, on the plane I remembered a lot of things. The main one being that I never went anywhere for vacations. The reason behind that is that I HATE flying. Now I know it seems silly, but it just creeps me out to put my trust in a tin can that is flying through Zeus’ domain. I turned to Mason, who was sleeping soundly in the seat next to mine. I rolled my eyes; it would figure that a kid of Zeus would be fine in the sky. After we landed in Miami , Brad, mason, and myself went looking for the kids that I had seen in my vision. Walking towards the nearest beach which happened to be on the same road as the bookstore, we saw two of the kids surfing.
One was a girl in a green bikini riding a green board with a silver music note on it. She had sandy-brown hair and sea-green eyes. She looked like she was having fun since we could hear her laugh from the ocean to the beach.
The other was a boy in blue board shorts riding a black board with a silver strip. He had shaggy brown hair and sea-green eyes. He was goofing off on his surfboard. The two came back on shore and laughed as they dried off. I looked over at brad who was looking over at me.
“Is that them?” he asked.
“Yeah,” I said, “What should we do? One is missing.”
“Wait for a monster?” Mason suggested.
“Yeah totally,” I said, “Let’s all get killed!”
The girl looked over at us a poked her companion, pointing to us then to her barrette. He rolled his eyes and picked up a pen. I knew what was going to happen; they were going to fight us. Guessing that the thought we were monsters, Mason held up his hands. The girl slipped on a multi-colored t-shirt and walked over.
“Are you guys’ monsters?” she asked pulling her blue barrette, with a bronze wave on it, out of her fluffy hair.
“Um, no,” Mason said, “We’re…like you.” “Oh!” the girl said with surprise motioning for her friend to come and meet us, “I’m Ally, this is Trip.”
“Trip?” Brad asked raising his eyebrow.
“It’s actually Tarren,” the guy said, “Ally and a few others call me Trip.”
“He’s a bit of a clues is why,” Ally said with a wink and a smile.
“I’m not half the cluts you are,” he said.
“Well at least I can do a cut-back,” she said rolling her eyes.
“Is that what you call a cut-back?” Tarren asked with a laugh, “I thought you were goofing off.”
While Ally and “Trip” were fighting I noticed a blonde haired girl looking at us from the window of a bookstore. I nudged Mason; he looked at me then went back to watching the fight. Rolling my eyes I walked back into the book store and came face to face with a short, blonde haired girl. She was looking at me intently.
“You’re a demigod,” she said, “A strong one.”
I looked around the book store noticing that no one was paying attention to us.
“Um, thanks,” I said taking a step back from her, “How’d you know?”
“I’m a daughter of Athena,” she said shifting her side bangs out of her gray-blue eyes, “Did you know that humans eat a pound of bugs a year without knowing it?”
“No I can’t say I did,” I said.
My mind was spinning. When she said “daughter of Athena,” it made me think of a boy I use to know. I can’t remember much about him. Blonde hair, deep brown eyes, a warm smile, and ice cream…I definitely remembered ice cream. Weird way to remember someone right?
Anyways, this girl would not stop spewing out random facts. I finally got her to shut up when I asked her if she wanted to join our group. She got really excited and agreed, eager to meet the rest of our brigade.
I looked over at what she was wearing. A black jacket with a green under shirt cut off gloves and dark blue jeans. Her sandy-blonde hair had a navy blue bow in it that was like a headband but on the side of her head instead of the center. She was laughing as we walked back to the group.
“Who’s she?” Mason asked.
“Bonnie Rosetta,” the girl responded.
“Watch out,” Ally and Trip said at the same time, “She knows stuff that will gross you out.”
“Oh, come on,” Mason said.
“We’re serious,” Trip said.
Mason got a freaked out look on his face and Trip started laughing. Our, ever growing, group settled down to talk.

Chapter 3
We Gamble Our Lives at the Diamond Hotel
After an hour of talking, Bonnie looked around the group. Brad and Mason already knew their god parents, and she knew hers. Ally, Trip, and I were the only ones who didn't. Ally and Trip looked kind of alike, their eyes where the same shade of green.
"Poseidon," Bonnie said finally, "Ally and Trip have to be kids of the sea god!"
"Why do you think that?" I asked.
"Think about it," she said, "Ally's hair never gets wet, Trip and Ally have sea green eyes, and the names of their weapons have to do with the ocean."
Now I was ticked. Everyone knew their god parents, and I was still in the dark. I got up and paced down the beach. When I was a good distance and sure that no one was following me I started to think. It bothered me; no father to tell me, no way to know who my god parent was. I wanted to chuck the stupid sword into the ocean when it hit me. My sword's name was "Hera's Curse" why didn't I see it before. I was the child of the queen of Heaven; Hera the goddess of marriage. That also meant my mom was a jealous, crazy psychopath.
I started to turn to head back to the group, but when I did I saw two figures getting closer. It looked like a boy and a girl. The girl was dragging the boy down the beach by his arm. As they got closer I could see what they looked like.
The boy looked about seventeen and really grouchy. He had black hair with red tips and his eyes were the color of blood. He wasn't wearing a shirt but he had a floor length cloak that was dragging in the sand and jeans. He also had no shoes on, but who would on a beach. All around the guy was pretty hot.
The girl dragging him down the beach was probably his girl friend. She looked about sixteen and had really light blonde hair, it was almost white, not to mention her eyes were a light blue. She wore a white, button up, western shirt that was tied above her stomach and had the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. She had a gold circlet and jean shorts as well. Like her boy friend she didn't have any shoes on.
I noticed something weird, where they walked there were no foot prints in the sand. I was frozen in place. The girl looked at me from where they were. She tugged on the guy's cloak and when he wouldn't move, she started to walk away from him. Rolling his eyes he took her hand and walked with her. When they got closer the air got colder and birds started to sing.
'Who are these people?' I thought as the girl walked up.
"Demitra Julian Jones?" she asked.
"Yeah," I answered slowly. How she knew my full name I didn't want to know.
She handed me a sheet of paper with a few addresses on it. The first looked like a hotel in New York , the next looked like a house in Maine , and the last was a house in Tennessee . I looked up at her, but she was talking to her companion.
"Damien," she said, "Calm down, it's just a note."
"We're not suppose to interfere with her life Melody!" Damien said his voice rising a bit.
"It was given to me by Hera," she said, "If I ignored it then she'd have me hung from Olympus by my wrists like she is when Zeus punishes her!"
"Whatever," he said.
She reached up and touched his face lightly. His face twitched into what seemed like a smile. They looked over at me and Damien's "smile" disappeared. I held the paper out to the girl, it wasn't going to be of any use to me. Plus I didn't want any "gifts" from my mom.
"Use that well," Melody said taking Damien's hand as the started back the way they had come.
"Its numbers and words," I mumbled, "Just great give the dyslexic kid something to read."
I trudged back to our group. My hand was in my pocket that had the note in it. I was able to make out the first address, just based on the face that the name was on it. It was the Diamond Hotel and Casino in New York . The one place that might not be the best place to go when the heiress is mad at you. Once I got back to ourgroup I sat down waiting for Bonnie to finish telling Brad about the book she was writing. I could tell he was laughing in his head. A dyslexic kid writing a story made about as much sense as one becoming the greatest math teacher in the world.
"Bonnie," I said beginning to rub my temples, "That's enough."
"Opps!" she said, "Sorry!"
"Anyways," Ally said with a smiled, "Bonnie, Trip, and I all have our stuff and we're ready to go."
"What about you're parents?" I asked, "Shouldn't you leave them a note or something?"
"Already taken care of," Trip said.
"Ok then," I said, "Anybody got a ride to New York ?"
"Why New York ?" Mason asked.
"I got a note from a couple of gods," I said.
"Ok then," he said, "Airplane?"
"I don't do airplanes," Trip said crossing his arms.
"Me neither," Ally chimed in.
"Oh I know why!" Bonnie exclaimed.
"Of course you would," I muttered under my breath.
"Your parents don't trust you in planes right?" she asked completely ignoring my comment.
"Yeah," Ally said, "How'd you know?"
"Well ever think that your parents wouldn't trust you in the sky if your father had a rivalry with the lord of it?" she reasoned.
I heard a low growl from a distance and looked behind me. This huge dog was looking at us with hungry eyes. I looked to my right to see Mason stand up and on my left Brad stood up as well. Bonnie, Ally, and Trip fell behind us and took out their weapons.
Ally had pulled out her clip. It transformed into a long bronze staff with sharp tips. The part in the center was blue. Trip's pen morphed into a celestial bronze sword with a green leather hilt. Bonnie's bow turned into a celestial bronze whip.
Mason and I uncapped our pens and Brad pressed the red jewel in his dad's class ring and got ready for a fight. I looked around and could tell that I was the leader of the group. I sent Trip and brad to the left, Mason and ally to the right, and Bonnie and myself to attack straight on.
"It's a hell hound," Bonnie said as we ran at it.
"Really?" I asked, "I thought it was just a really big dog!!"
That had her quiet for a bit. Mason went for the front leg and Ally went for the back. Brad and trip attacked the other side. None of them could get a hit on the hell hound. I looked past the hell hound to see a boy smirking at me before disappearing. The hell hound let out a low growl and charged at me. Not thinking I swung up, the hound howled before scratching my arm and leaving a deep gash. It took Bonnie and Brad three more minutes to get the hound to disintegrate.
"Man that thing was strong!" Mason said.
"You're telling me," I said after taking a few deep breaths and tying a peace of cloth around my arm to stop the bleeding.
After buying a couple packs of band-aids and disinfectant we headed to the bus station. I was the only one that had a ton of money in the group since my dad gave me a credit card. We bought bus tickets all the way to the Hotel and soon fell asleep.
Now I didn't know this but when demigods have dreams it's like a sight into the future. Boy was this dream creepy. That boy that I remembered while meeting Bonnie was standing in front of me. He was almost transparent as the scene behind him changed into a world in kayos. A voice spoke out to me.
'Come join me young one,' it said, 'together we can destroy the gods, Olympus will be ours and you evil mother will hang from Olympus forever!'
I woke up to Brad shaking me awake. We all got off the bus and headed to the hotel. I looked up at it, fifty floors filled with who knows what. It had a view of the empire state building and most of the people who entered where without kids. We walked up to the door and were immediately stopped by the security guards.
"Sorry kids," the huge dude said, "No parents no entry."
"But I know Lucy!" I said.
"Yeah and I know Fredrick J. Jones," he said.
I winced at the name then straightened up. I didn't like that he knew who my dad was but he must have some respect for a wealthy business man's daughter.
"My name is Demitra Julian Jones," I said, "My father as you know is Fredrick J. Jones and you should let me in before I inform him you aren't."
"Ha-ha nice try kid," he said, "His daughter is a delinquent living in London ."
"Ha-ha, I have a passport you know," I said pulling out my passport and ID.
He looked them over and handed them back to me. Letting us in, I rolled my eyes at Mason's face.
"What?" I asked when I couldn't stand the staring anymore.
"You're dad is Frederick J. Jones?" he asked.
"Yes ok!" I said, "Just stop saying his name!"
We all hand our backpacks on and I walked over to the front desk. It was going to be a long day if she didn't believe me about Lucy.
"Is Lucy Diamond in?" I asked.
"Yes miss she's with a friend," the receptionist said, "Do you know her?"
"Yeah," I answered quickly.
"One moment please," she said.
I listened to her talk into a small phone. "Name please?" she asked.
"Demi Jones," I answered.
"Ok Miss Diamond is in the casino with Drake and her brother," she said looking over our group.
"Thanks lady," I said.
Our group headed to the casino. Lucy found me before I saw her. The next thing I know I'm being bear hugged by the girl who's suppose to be mad at me. She looked over at Mason and Brad.
"So who's your new squeeze?" she asked in a whisper.
"No one Luce," I said, "Now let go I think you're crushing my ribs!"
After Lucy let go I looked at the other two boys. Drake and Blake, annoying one and annoying two. Drake is the annoying bad boy who every girl wants to date, ewe in my opinion. He always wears a black jacket, a sleeveless shirt, ripped jeans, and a black chocker with a skull on it. He had his short black hair to his neck and crimson red eyes, now where have I seen that before?
Lucy's brother Blake was the exact opposite. Well he was a cocky boy but that's normal, for him anyways. He had short neck length blonde hair and dazzling blue eyes. He had on a black tank top, cameo army pants, and dog tags. He smiled when he noticed that I was looking at him.
"Like what you see?" he asked.
"Nope," I said, "Just remembering how annoying you are."
Drake just rolled his eyes and scaned the crowd. Mason and Brad were standing lookout on the sides of our group. Now Lucy, Drake, and Blake already knew they were demigods, they had been waiting for me to figure out that I was one. I looked around and saw an lady with rose colored glasses. She got up and walked over to our group.
She had dark brown hair and carmel colored skin. She was wearing a black dress and shoes. She looked like a supermodel. Mason and Brad looked shell shocked. The lady walked over and flipped her hair.
"Hello children you are so cute," she said with a strange hissing sound on the s.
"Um, thanks," I said.
"Call me…Auntie Seni," she said.
"Demi…lets go," Mason said grabbing my arm and trying to pull me away.
"Mason let go!" I said turning back to let lady.
She was looking at Bonnie with interest. She asked us to take a picture for her portfolio because she had never seen a group so big. Our group followed the strange woman into the garden. She set us up on the bench and told us to smile. Mason was fidgeting and not looking at her. Bonnie, Brad, Ally, and Trip were also not looking at her. Bonnie and I smiled and waited for the camera to go off.
"This will be perfect for my sister," she said in her strange acent.
Bonnie and I heard a hiss and looked away just in time to see a bird that had been sitting in front of us turn to stone. I jumped up and looked into the glass of the garden. The woman had a head of snakes and her skin was a sickly green color. Bonnie gasped and tied a cloth around her eyes.
"Don't look at her!" she yelled, "Its Stheno!"
"Who?" I asked.
"Medusa's sister the gorgon!" she yelled.
We all dived out of the way and hid. Mason was already behind her with a reflective garden ball. He swung up and cut through her body like water. It disappeared with in a second.
"Ok everyone you can look," he said.
After booking a couple of rooms we headed to the dinning room. I still wasn't sure what the next address was on the note. We were about to sit down when Bonnie and Lucy grabbed my arms and dragged me out of the area.
"You like Mason don't you?!?!" Lucy asked.
"Huh what are you talking about?" I asked.
"You so know it!" Bonnie said, "We see the way you to look at each other!"
"I have no idea what you guys are talking about," I said walking back to the group, it was going to be a long night.

Walking threw her father's summer home Demi noticed a picture sitting on an end table. She stoped and stared at it. "No way," she said grabbing it and running over to her butler. "WHO IS THIS?!" she asked pointing to the brown haired, gray eyed boy. "You're older brother." the older man said, "James." 'No....,'Demi thought.

Demi woke up in the hotel room the group had gotten. Mason was still asleep under her, like they had fallen asleep talking last night. Trip, Ally and Blake where sprawled on the floor snoring lightly. Erin was curled up with her head on Brad's chest. Bonnie and Justin where asleep in the corner. Demi got off of Mason and moved over to the window looking out over the ocean. They'd made their way down to New Orleans. Justin had fixed her sword before they had left. Demi played with her red hair streak, a habit she'd gotten into back in London. She heard someone else getting up. They walked up behind her and slipped their arms around her waist. "Demi its five in the morning," Mason's voice said softly in her ear, "Did you get another vision?" "No Mason," she said with a small smile, "No visions. Just woke up." "Well we've been running for three days with no sleep. Let's just go back to bed," he said with a quiet laugh. He pulled her back over to the couch. Once they where both sitting down he laied down and pulled her back on top of him. "Sleep well D," he said. "You too M," Demi said closing her eyes with a smile.

Demi ran down the street away from the group. She couldn't deal with them, it wasn't like they understood her at all. Demi slammed her back onto the wall of the alley and gritted her teeth. Hera wasn't worth the mistrust she had towards her friends. Suddenly there was a movement towards the back of the alley.
"Really little cousin?" Melody asked walknig over to her, "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get away from people like you!" Demi said with a growl.
Melody held her dainty hands up in surrender, "I'm just here to give you something."
She pulled a black dagger from her sleeve and held it out to her.
"Whats this for?" Demi asked.
"If you really want to bring your brother back...you need to kill yourself with that and summond Damion to human form," Melody said.
Demi gripped the knife and studied it, "And James will be alive again?"
"New body and everything," Melody said with sad eyes.
"I'll do it."

Demi waited until everyone was asleep, slipping out of Mason's arms she headed for the park just a few blocks away. Dressed in a white sun dress and no shoes she made her way to an oak tree. She had taken some time getting ready, because Melody had told her what was going to happen. Painting her body with sparkle powder and designs for life that she had gotten out of a greek mythology book she held the weapon Melody had given her close. No one knew about this, Demi blaimed herself for her older brother's death. Placing the knife on her wrist she slashed alowing the blood to pool at the base of the Oak, darkening the grass around it.
"Damien," she said, "I summon you to human form."
In what seemed like an instant, a cool wind surrounded her. Then the god of winter appeared before her. Dark and dangerous, Damien was something out of a novel. He still held the same cold fire in his eyes that he had when she first met him on the beach nearly two years ago.
"Demi...what are you doing?" he asked in a cold tone.
"I'm saving my brother," Demi said with a voice that could match his own.
"Listen Demi," Damien said with an irritated sigh, "You can't bring James back. I know Melody told you that it was possible, but it's not the will of the gods. It's Zeus using Melody to get back at Hera by killing you."
"I don't care!" Demi said, "James had a life ahead of him."
"James would have died the day he turned twenty-one," Damien said in a cold tone, "He knew that and rather than wait for it he sacrificed the five years he had left to save you. Don't throw away his sacrifice."
