((scared? possibly...... I can tell you're teasing me. a friend would be nice.....yes, she does like cookies. Especially peanut butter cookies with the giant hershey's kiss in the middle.))
There was a movement accompanied by a strange scuttling sound in the bushes to her right. She took off her bracelet and twisted the big bead in the middle and it transformed into a deadly celestial bronze sword. She assumed a fighting stance just as a giant scorpion emerged from the clump of bushes.

Her only option was to evade and survive. The scorpion tried to stab her with it's massive tail, but she jumped backwards just in time. It's tail was stuck in the ground so she took advantage of the moment and tried to hack off the stinger. Her sword just slid off--apparently it's natural armor covered it's tail too. The thing was fast too. She started backing up towards a huge tree behind her. Maybe if the stinger got lodged into the trunk.........

(you spelled scorpion wrong!!! )) She noticed Devon enter the clearing, but didn't have time to dwell on it because just then the scorpion tried to impale her with it's tail again. But this time her plan worked and the stinger got stuck momentarily in the trunk. Some wood nymph wasn't going to be happy about that. Beady black eyes stared straight at her like 'ooh, demigod. yummy!!'

((ok, hahaha!))
Areelah threw her sword at the scorpion's face, hoping that it's eyes were vulnerable. Then she rolled to the left as she heard a tremendous yowl of pain.

Her sword had nailed it in the right eye (well, it had a big eye, so it was an easy target!) And they watched the scorpion wither in misery as it shriveled into monster dust. "Well, that was fun." Areelah said with a touch of sarcasm. Her breaths came out in big gasps.

Devon put his sword back in his sheath. He took a deep breath and looked at the sky.

She went and picked up her sword and put it away too. "Come to save the damsel in distress, have you?" she asked, looking at Devon. "I don't mean that in a bad way, so thanks!!"

She just nodded, even though she knew he couldn't see. For some reason she found herself blushing too. "Hey wait up!" she called. "I need to get to the dining pavilion too, and I think I've learned my lesson about wandering the woods at night." she said.

Devon turned his head and smiled. He slowed down so he could walk beside her.
((does that sound familiar?))
