She slowly walked toward the stream with Devon. She knew she was dehydrated badly, but the trick was not letting Devon know because she had a feeling he would freak out. Which wouldn't help.

"Good question. He probably flew off for a snooze in one of the nearby trees." Areelah whistled. Sure enough, Pest flew out of an adjacent tree and settled on her shoulder with a rustle of feathers. He looked at her like 'come on, i'd just started to drift off...' "Oh, suck it up." she told him.

They walked for a long while. Camp couldn't have been far off, but with the river turning and changing direction so much, they walked for hours until the sun was high in the sky.
